Divya is a private equity and venture capital investor with over 26 years of experience growing and investing in businesses in sustainable technology, infrastructure, energy, sustainable agriculture and forestry.
Educated at Oxford (BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics) and at Harvard (MBA, Harvard Business School), she built her track record at industry-leading organisations including Goldman Sachs, Parthenon, Unilever Ventures, GIC (Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund) and the global private equity firm TPG, where she was a Partner. Divya is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader for her work in sustainable and impact investing and has served on the Investment Committee of the Global Innovation Fund anchored by USAID and the UK’s DFID.She was previously a Council Member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), re-elected for two consecutive terms, and has served on the boards of a number of listed companies in the UK and USA, including most recently the FTSE-250 company Forterra, where she was Chair of the Risk and Sustainability Committee for 9 years. In 2019, Divya was appointed by the Secretary of State to advise the UK Government as a member of HMG’s Council for Sustainable Business, where she leads the Net-Zero Initiative.

Graham is a Partner of Gaia Sciences Innovation. He has held a wide range of leadership roles during his 30+ year career, growing and investing in businesses in food and agricultural technologies, sustainable development, renewable energy, and rural land management.
Appointed to create a new diversification strategy for the Grosvenor Estate, Graham founded the Wheatsheaf Group in 2012, leading it to become one of the largest and longest-established international investment groups in food and agri-tech. Prior to this, Graham oversaw the rural land portfolio of The Co-operative Group, including large-scale sustainable land development and renewable energy projects. He was also a partner at a national land management consultancy, working across rural estates and landholdings throughout Scotland and northern England (including farming, forestry, and conservation), and served for five years as a Royal Navy Officer.
Graham has held numerous Non-Executive Director roles across a range of business, public sector, and educational organisations. He was educated at Newcastle University (BSc Hons in Agriculture), the Royal Agricultural University (MSc Rural Land Management), and Harvard Business School (Advanced Management Programme).

Barry is a long-standing member of the Greensphere team, bringing ~30 years of cross-sector experience in finance, strategy, and commercial leadership.
He spent 20+ years in private-equity-backed businesses, including as CFO, and combines financial expertise with a practical, deep understanding of the commercial and regulatory environments in which Greensphere’s engineered solutions portfolio operates.
Barry is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes.

Jamie is Group General Counsel and is a qualified solicitor with over 17 years’ experience advising on large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. Since joining Greensphere, Jamie advised on the first close of the Gaia Sciences Innovation Fund and continues to support the process as each institute partnership develops. She advises on the set-up and day-to-day operations of the portfolio companies of both the Gaia Fund and Gaia Sciences Innovation Fund, with company secretarial responsibility for the Group.
Before joining Greensphere, Jamie held roles at City firms Dentons, Eversheds and Bevan Brittan.
She holds an LLB in law from the University of Birmingham.

Ben is a Principal at Greensphere Capital, where he plays a leading role primarily in the Gaia Engineered Solutions fund. His responsibilities focus on developing portfolio companies through organic growth and acquisitions. Ben works closely with the management teams to support strategic and operational development and leads deal origination, due diligence, and transaction execution. Ben has over 25 years’ experience in senior finance, strategy, and operational roles across multiple industries, spending the last decade in private equity. Prior to joining Greensphere, he held senior positions at HSS Hire and Lloyds Banking Group. During his time at Greensphere, Ben has developed deep sector expertise in the waste industry, particularly in anaerobic digestion and biomass.
Ben qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen and holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Jack is a Principal at Greensphere Capital, where he plays a leading role in driving investment activity across the Gaia Sciences Innovation Fund. He focuses on deal origination, leading due diligence, executing investments, and partnering closely with portfolio company leadership to support growth and enduring impact. He brings nine years of experience in venture and growth capital, with a focus on the sustainability transition.
Prior to Greensphere, Jack was an Investment Manager at Grosvenor Food & AgTech (formerly Wheatsheaf Group), part of the Grosvenor Estate. There he led investments from seed to late-stage growth across the agrifood value chain, and supported portfolio companies through board roles across multiple businesses.
Jack holds a BA Hons in Geography from the University of Cambridge and an MBA (with Honors) from IMD in Switzerland. He is also a CFA Charterholder.

Ned is an Associate at Greensphere Capital, where he sits on the Gaia Sciences Innovation Fund investment team, identifying and scaling nature positive investment opportunities that leverage the world leading bioscience research from GSI partner institutes. He brings 5 years' experience working across the finance industry.
Ned comes from a farming background and before joining Greensphere, worked at PwC London in Banking and Capital Markets audit division and Strategy& on the Net Zero Future50 initiative. He moved to Nairobi to work for Conservation Alpha on nature and conservation financing projects across Africa.
Ned is ACA qualified and holds an MSc in Environmental Technology at Imperial College London, specialising in environmental resource management.

Audrey is a Portfolio CFO at Greensphere Capital, where she works with the Gaia Sciences Innovation Fund portfolio company management teams helping them with decision making and driving growth.
She bring over 20 years of cross sector experience in senior finance, operational and strategic roles.
Audrey began her career in Proctor & Gamble and Unilever and has since worked across start-up, scale-up and multinational businesses in the UK and internationally. She was involved in the set-up and early years of Unilever Ventures and holds a BA in Economics from the University of Exeter.

Sri is Operating Principal at Greensphere Capital, where he delivers significant performance improvements across the firm’s renewable energy portfolio, including multi-million-pound CAPEX expansions, plant optimisation, and new project development in anaerobic digestion, biomass, gas-to-grid, and green hydrogen.
As a qualified agricultural scientist and seed technologist, and a long-standing operator in sustainable agriculture and organic waste, Sri brings over 15 years of experience across renewable energy operations, biological process optimisation, commercial management, and large-scale project delivery in the anaerobic digestion and biomass sectors.
Sri previously held roles at Vale Green Energy Ltd, Biffa, Shanks and ReFood, focusing on operations leadership, process optimisation, and profit improvement across food-waste and agricultural anaerobic digestion plants, gas-to-grid upgrades, and renewable energy facilities.
Sri holds an MSc in Applied Sciences from Nottingham Trent University and a Bachelor’s degree with Distinction in Biotechnology from Allahabad Agricultural Institute, India.

Gemma focuses on talent at Greensphere Capital, supporting talent management initiatives and platform ecosystem building across the firm and its portfolio. She has over five years of experience in executive search and recruitment, working extensively with consultancies, venture capital, and private equity firms to attract and retain specialist talent globally.
Before joining Greensphere, Gemma was part of Acre, a sustainability-focused search and recruitment consultancy, where she played a key role in expanding its private equity and impact investing practice. She began her career at Lutyens Advisory, supporting senior searches across asset management and the family office space.
Gemma holds a First-Class MA (Hons) in Art History from the University of Edinburgh, where she specialised in urban regeneration.

Paul has an extensive background in the chemical industry and private equity for over than 35 years. Paul is currently an investor in and NXD at Marine Biopolymers Limited, and Group Chair of multinational chemicals and materials company, Scott Bader Company limited. He is also a founding partner and director of the advisory group Cogency Chemical Consulting Limited, providing commercial strategy and market due diligence services to the financial investment sector. Paul is a graduate Chemist (1976), enjoying a long and successful career within a number of large multinational chemical companies until moving into private equity and venture capital in late 2001. His early roles included General Manager – Commercial for Albright & Wilson’s Surfactant Business in Europe, Marketing Director at Brent International PLC, and European Managing Director – Elementis Pigments. Paul has held a number of leadership roles in VC-backed businesses and has an enviable track record of creating value and highly profitable exits for investors. These include the sale in 2018 of the three Catexel Group companies to ICIG portfolio company, Weylchem, and US based Borchers Company, respectively, and Rahu Catalytics Limited (a business where he worked with Divya Seshamani at Unilever Ventures) to Wall Street listed US Specialty Chemicals player, OM Group Inc. in late 2011. He has extensive international experience in Europe, North America and Asia, and lived and worked in Germany for 4 years.

Sara has been working with Greensphere since early 2011 and brings over 35 years of experience in preparing management accounts.
Previously, she worked at John Lewis. Since then, she has supported a range of small organisations across the construction, retail, and film sectors, as well as two community garden charities in London.

Investment Committee
Greensphere's Investment Committee comprises leading names from the realms of public and private equity investing. With credible financial track records and extensive board level experience, the Investment Committee enhances Greensphere’s ability to evaluate investment opportunities whilst providing strategic oversight on ESG matters.

A chemist and chartered accountant by training and a polymath by default Jon never fails to challenge the investment team with rather detailed chemistry and financial questions. Jon was formerly Managing Partner and Founder of Schroder Ventures where he served from 1985 to 1994. He was also the Managing Partner of Alchemy Partners, which he founded in 1997. Jon has previously worked with Citicorp Venture Capital, Permira, and was a Director at Apax Partners. He was an inaugural member of the British Venture Capital Hall of Fame and served on the Board of the Corporate Finance Faculty of The Institute of Chartered Accountants. He has sat on the Board of several public companies and is currently a director of a number of private companies and charities.
Jon Moulton

An engineer at heart, Paul has over 30 years experience at the senior management or director level of businesses. He currently serves as Non-Executive Chairman of Signia Wealth Limited, Readypower Group Limited, and McCarthy and Stone. Paul previously served as Non-Executive Chairman of Forterra, John Laing Infrastructure Fund Limited, a FTSE 250 company where he led the initial public offering of the fund in 2010; and was a Non-Executive Director of Invensys, a FTSE 100 company, and Chief Executive of VT Group Plc, amongst a variety of other directorships. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and a diploma in Management Studies from Nottingham Trent University. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a member of Her Majesty’s Major Projects Review Group. Paul was awarded a CBE in 2007.
Paul Lester CBE

With a passion for technology, Ian has over three decades of experience in private equity and investment management and currently also serves as Partner of Circularity Capital, a sustainable investment fund. Ian was chosen by the UK Government as founding CEO in 2011 to establish the UK Green Investment Bank and was its Chief Investment Officer until 2014. Previously, Ian spent 25 years at at 3i during which time he was Chief Investment Officer with responsibility for managing £10 billion of assets across Europe. He was also a member of the 3i Group Executive, Investment Committee, Risk Committee and Conflicts Committee. Ian qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen and graduated with a BA in Economics from Cambridge University.

Prof Monique Simmonds is a Senior Scientific Advisor and Investment Committee member of the Gaia Sciences Innovation Fund. In her role as Senior Scientific Advisor and Investment Committee member, Prof Simmonds provides independent scientific oversight over the scientific panels convened during due diligence processes to ensure that investment decisions are underpinned by rigorous, high-integrity science.
Prof Monique Simmonds OBE is a globally recognised leader in botanical science, natural-product chemistry, and biodiversity research, with over 40 years of scientific experience. She spent more than three decades in senior leadership at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, including as Director of Science (Partnerships), overseeing world-leading programmes across taxonomy, molecular biology, conservation, and plant-based innovation.
Prof Simmonds has authored over 390 scientific publications and led major international research consortia. She brings deep expertise in evaluating early-stage technologies, with a focus on scientific rigour and pathways to commercial validation. Awarded an OBE for services to science, the environment, technological innovation and community she has advised governments, NGOs, corporates, and innovators worldwide. She holds a BSc (Hons) from the University of Leeds and a PhD from Birkbeck College, University of London.
